Soliton Telmec Ltd, designs, builds and supports any large-scale optical fiber transmission networks. We were recently contracted to build Kenya Data Networks redundant fiber connectivity linking Nairobi to Mombasa. KDN already has a fiber link running from Nairobi to Mombasa along the Nairobi Mombasa highway.

The ongoing redundant link running through Thika-Garissa-Hola to Malindi and back to Mombasa will make traffic loss due to fiber cuts a thing of the past.

The planned project duration for the long link of 800km is six months. The project started in Nov 2009. By December 31st 2009 we had deployed 730km of the link. By deploying the latest in fiber deployment and testing technology, Soliton Telmec, hope to commission the link within a period of three months.
